RAWALPINDI:

The Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) on Monday began removing heavy power generators placed in streets and roads as part of an anti-encroachment drive.

RCB Executive Officer Faheem Zafar Khan said the operation was launched after the expiry of a seven-day deadline given to private banks, bakeries, hotels, shopping malls and fast-food outlets to remove noisy, smoke-emitting generators from streets and sidewalks.

“The confiscated goods will not be returned at any cost. They will be disposed of through auction next week,” Khan said.
