Investigation completed: DCO’s guard jailed on judicial remand

FAISALABAD: Anti-Corruption Judge Shaukat Iqbal on Sunday sent Imran Ahmed, a gunman of the district coordination officer (DCO) accused of corruption to Faisalabad district jail on a judicial remand. Anti-Corruption Department Assistant Director Zahid Masood Nizami informed the court that an official vehicle that Imran Ahmed had taken from the motor pool of the city district government had been recovered. He told the court that Ahmed was no longer needed for interrogation. The prosecution said they had no objection if the accused was sent to jail on a judicial remand. Ahmed was suspended from service by DCO Noorul Amin Mengal who had asked the Anti-Corruption Department to investigate the allegations that the man had been receiving bribes from traders, industrialists and revenue workers.
