In a crucial executive board meeting held on Wednesday, participants approved a reference against former assistant advocate-general of Punjab Seema Munawar for unlawful withdrawal of pensions worth Rs4 million.
They also decided to file a reference against Chairperson of the Women’s Centre in Bahawalpur Perveen Ghauri on charges of misappropriation of one million rupees of the government’s treasury.
NAB Chairperson Deedar Hussain Shah also recommended a reference against Haris Mansoor with other co-accused for misappropriation of Rs5 million from accounts at the Habib Bank Limited.
A former project director of the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa health department Dr Yunus would also be facing a reference for misuse of authority by making illegal appointments in the project.
A reference was also approved against Malik Naveed, former commandant of the Frontier Corps for bypassing the force’s recruitment rules.
NAB operations department filed a reference against former director of Quetta’s Feeder Project Ali Akbar along with other co-accused.
Shah also directed separate inquires into the purchase of lifts by the Capital Development Authority.
Participants also decided to act against Advocate Ghazanfar Ali Sherazi for a claim on forged documents and Naghmana Hameed of M/S HSZ Securities for defrauding the public at large.
It was also decided that the case against Kamoka Textile Mills, Faisalabad, would be restarted.
NAB operational committee decided to drop charges against Sohrab Khan Kalwar, deputy director of Sindh food department for lack of evidence.
Last week, NAB had filed some seven such references against public officials. Shah directed NAB Deputy Chairperson Javaid Zia Qazi and director-generals of respective headquarters to immediately clear up pending matters. He said that the references must be filed and investigations completed as soon as possible.
