QUETTA: Security of jails in Balochistan has been tightened to avoid any untoward incident, according to Inspector General (IG) of Balochistan Prisons, Bashir Bangulzai. He said that additional personnel of law enforcement agencies have been deployed at and around all six jails in the province. “On the directives of home department, a new security plan has been chalked out for jails,” said Bangulzai. He noted that Central Jail Mach, District Jail Quetta, Central Jail Gadani and Central Jail Khuzdar have been declared sensitive where security men equipped with latest weapons are on high alert. “We have asked the provincial government to deploy Frontier Corps outside the Central Mach Jail,” he said while adding that a response from home department is awaited.
