Actionable intelligence: Police nab wanted militant in Mardan

Afridi claimed that Ziauddin had also been involved in extortion under the guise of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan.

MARDAN/PESHAWAR: A suspected militant was arrested in Dubai Adda area of Mardan on Friday with explosive materials recovered from his possession. DPO Gul Afzal Khan Afridi said police received an intelligence report stating that a suspected militant, identified as Ziauddin, was present in the area. Officials of the Chora police station then raided the location arrested the suspect. Police recovered two hand grenades, 400 grammes of explosives, a safety fuse and a detonator from the suspect’s possession. The official pointed out that the suspect was wanted the police for blowing up Government Girls Primary School, Bakhshali and Government Higher Secondary School, Gujrat in 2007 and 2013. Afridi claimed that Ziauddin had also been involved in extortion under the guise of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan. The suspect was presented in a sessions court where he was handed over to the police on a three-day physical remand.
