Speaking to media on Thursday, PTI's Central Information Secretary Shireen Mazari said that instead of focusing on the deteriorating law and order situation in Pakistan, Nawaz has been writing letters and sending gifts to Modi’s family.
“He is continuing to woo hardliner Indian Prime Minister Modi - the latest being a letter committing himself to furthering better relations with India,” she said.
Unfortunately, Mazari continued, Nawaz seems oblivious to the fact that Modi’s government has shown no positive response to his overtures.
She further added that it is evident that the PM's sole focus is on furthering his business interests, pointing out that news of a possible joint venture between a major Indian media house and members of the Sharif family is circulating.
“That was painfully obvious when he took his businessman son with him to Delhi and met with a range of business tycoons and media houses but found no time to meet with the Kashmiri Hurriyet leaders,” she stated.
Mazari alleged that Nawaz's family has become one of the biggest investors in the United Kingdom, maintaining that he refuses to bring his wealth back to Pakistan.
She upheld that her party is opposed to all family politico-business enterprises.

Once during 1996 I traveled with Shereen Mazari from Frankfurt to Karachi Flight on Lufthansa. We had discussions on many topic and from that day I had a great respect for this lady. I always considered her highly educated and well learned person. The way she is behaving now after joining PTI all respect has vanished and her credibility sinks to below freezing point.
@Bakhtiyar Ghazi Khan: Please read this and does this satisfy you:-

There was, for instance, an almost hysterical note to the comments on the revelations that the arms the terrorists carried were of Indian and Russian origin. In the channels I watched, not one commentator mentioned the fact that in Karachi, one of the most heavily weaponised cities in the world, you can get guns and ammunition originating in any part of the world. Similarly much was made, of the revelation that the terrorists were carrying blood clotting drugs, which were of Indian origin and which were carried by Indian soldiers when going into combat situations so that they could prevent excessive bleeding before they could get proper medical attention. Some channels showed the labels, which clearly stated that this medicine was being imported and marketed by a Pakistani company and presumably was available to anybody who wished to buy it from a local pharmacy but this was not highlighted in any of the comments.
Criticism is the easiest thing to do. I think PTI has nothing to do except criticism.
Imran and his team are fast losing their image of a mainstream party that wanted to change Pakistan into a pluralistic society. PTI, please return my vote
Proud of Imran Khan, Shireen Mazari, and PTI KPK government. Proud to be a citizen of this great country.
Shame on India for the Karachi attack, and shame on Modi's proxy wars against Muslims in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Kashmir, India, and Bangladesh.
ET, don't censor my comment again.
@Aziz: As a leader sharif sahab shout first take steps to improve the education system and health facilities that are in terrible conditions. Building vast infrastructure should come later.
The PM is no statesman or a leader, all he can think of is business, how make and keep his money. His in-action on FATA ops is a glaring example. We need a leader on top, not a business man. India's leader doesn't care how many love letters you write to him, he will respond with a list of demands.
No, Nawaz Sharif should woo taliban and that also with dialogue. Right PTI?
@Aik_Paki: Apologies had he brought a electoral reform agenda in parliament i would be all hearts and opposed any one opposing the bill. only after testing parliament should he come to dharnas and jalsas and as for the govt even ik isn't agitating against corruption yes he mention family based politics and all no mention of being courpt nor has been any corruption scandal. This is the time there is some solid economic growth which needs political stabilization. All ik is doing is popular politics which isn't beneficial for Pakistan
Please don't use bad words about him.......... He is our man out there and also has a cute daughter. Why don't IK also start some business rather then sulking here and there ?
It just seems that PTI wants to criticize PMLN, just for the heck of it. Their rhetoric about not meeting the the Hurriyat leaders is preposterous. Such a move would have destroyed the objectives of whole visit. Maybe they need to understand that Pakistan needs a mutually beneficial relationship with India.
@IZ: Correct your facts. India don`t want to talk to Pakistan. Please ask India to have a talk with NS on Kashmir, trade, water, etc. Then post agian if India agree.
@Asad Munir: Alas - you expect IK to support election rigging and this corrupt Government where NS is furthering their family businesses.
Ms Mazari is a Pakistani known for her decades long hawkish position on India ... it is obvious that she wants the status quo in relations to continue, that would perfectly suit the interests of those in Pakistan like her, who made a decent living out of anti India scholarship ... !
Imran used to be mature earlier. Now he is talking on tiny things and that too negative.
So PTI is for talks with the Taliban but against talks with India? And this makes sense, how?
PTI has become a joke now. I voted for PTI was a mistake. For Allah's sake, Nawaz is trying to develop Pakistan, give him some time. In today's world, only way we can develop is through trade. Look at China or USA or Germany. They all progressed because of Trade/Economy.
It seems that the PTI can do nothing but criticise someone. They were against the army then started to support them, they were against the MQM and then send messages of sympathy to Altaf. Elected by the liberal youth of Pakistan, PTI reps end up supporting the right wingers and align themselves witht the Jamaat e Islami and the Taliban. The PTI needs to figure out what they really stand for or they will become history very soon. There is nothing wrong with focussing on the economy and mending fences with India. The question on law and order and security is a separate one and the two can be worked on simultaneously.
@Taimoor: Please make up your mind for once as to what sort of government you want in Pakistan. From last almost 70 years when Army is in power you abuse them and throw them and then when civil government comes you abuse more and throw them. Are you not fed with this drama. R esult is pure simple chaos and terror is hunting you unabated.Wake up please to reality only way for peace and progress is through modern education and stable civil government.
PTI-party that will criticize anything and everything, except TTP
This is disappointing from PTI side. Let them have good relationship as its good for the country and the region. Although one needs to be vigilant about illegitimate business deals. Countries do have joint ventures and business collaboration. If its legal and legit then what's wrong about it? I'm a great supporter of PTI but its not soothing for my ears when something positive is portrayed as negative..
So now when nothing else is working, PTI has jumped the anti-India wagon. They would stoop to anything for power. They are no different than other political parties of this god forsaken country.
Take out all the interviews of Imran Khan to Indian channels and make out for yourself who said what and who wooed whom. IK changes colors according to the places where he goes. IK comes running to India on the drop of hat. I won't be surprised if is having tea with Modi soon.
very easy to say anthing , very easy job doing by PTI
If diplomacy works then why not? What has Pakistan achieved in last 67 years by being a hardliner with India? You need to learn Foreign Policy 101.
first try to win elections
How i thought that PTI would be different when i was voting for them in this last election, but it seems they have also joined the standard bandwagon of Pakistani politicians who are always power hungry. I thought PTI would bring a very positive and constructive change in Pakistani politics but ALAS ! coming to this present news had Imran Khan would have made the same gesture it would have been judged as dynamic leadership, pragmatism. All PTI knows these days is criticizing PMLN even at the cost of Pakistan. So sad and frustrating to see this coming from the party of patriotic literates.
Can i ask what is the stance of PTI on Taliban , their allies and the recent Karachi incident?. Also what is the definition of 90 days in PTI's dictionary.?. Every Political party of Pakistan including PMLN, PPPP, PTI, MQM, ANP, BNP or any other is the other name of Opportunism and nothing else.
This Prime Minister is so incompetent! PTI warned everyone that he is just a questionable businessman with no vision, who became politician through agencies' support. But some unfortunate souls didn't lesson.
How can you start inter-state dialogue with such love letters? We are accursed with such rulers. Sometimes it's Musharraf with his antics of shaking hands with Vajpayee, and now it's Nawaz Sharif dying for Modi.
What were they expecting anyways as positive response? smooches?
