No casualties have been reported, confirmed FC spokesperson Khan Waseh. According to him, over two dozen rocket launchers were fired from the Iranian side, which landed in an area 60 km south east of Mashkel tehsil of Washuk district. FC troops fired mortar rounds and LGM fire in retaliation.
Earlier in the day, Iran closed its border with Pakistan for an indefinite period following an attack in Taftan, which claimed the lives of 30 Shia pilgrims.

@Zaid Hamid: Afghanistan does not have a border fence because they do not recognize the Durand Line. Otherwise Afghanistan or the US would have built a fence by now. Even when the Taliban government was aided and abetted by the Pakistani establishment, they could not persuade the Taliban to accept the Durand Line.

What world are you living in? Pakistan has been trying for years to get the Afghan border fenced but it has proven to be physically impossible, and the cavemen in Afghanistan destroy any attempt at fencing because of their so-called ego over Durand Line. If the Afghan government really wanted to take an initiative towards fencing, Pakistan would leave no haste in leading the way and getting that whole god forsaken border sealed.

Commenters are all unrealistic, the problem is NOT IRAN it is PAKISTAN! The recent attack at Karachi Airport has shown but Pakistan leadership is blind and does NOT CARE anyway. Every country fears of the instability within Pakistan. Iran should definitely close their border with Pakistan as Saudi Arabia does try to create problems for them in that area with the help of their slaves in Pakistan. Nawaz Sharif does not care, he is protected just like Zardari with their bunkers.Unless Sharif goes Pakistan will continue to collapse and have security problems.
Pakistan is trapped from all sides. Influence of india is increasing in iran and afghanistan. America is now backing iran instead of saudi arabia and making iran closer to india that means against Pakistan. So we should develop our foreign policy and security forces strong to deal with all this.

Iran and Saudi Arabia are fighting a proxy war in Pakistan, as they are in Syria, this is also a fact.
The dead in Karachi's airport are casualties of America's war on terror in Pakistan and decades of insititutional blindness to a refugee crisis.

Afghanistan also has built a long wall on its border with Pakistan. Also, India has multiple barriers including a big wall. It is pretty much self-explanatory how much Pakistan is loved by its neighbours.
We have lost our trust with our neighbors being a state for the center of terrorism. Iron will not ever tolerate its borders to be violated and breached by terrorists unlike Pakistan.
