Females students outshined their male counterparts in the annual Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations, according to the results announced in Swat on Sunday.
A press release issued by the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Swat stated top two positions in grade 10 were attained by female students.
In first place, Rukhsar Khan of Swat Public School and College obtained 1,045 marks out of 1,100. Gul Lala, a close second, secured 1,031 marks. Mansoor Alam of Buner from Ghazali Public School came in third by securing 1,028.
The press release further stated that 21,501 students of grade nine (science group) took the annual exam. Of these, 15,503 were successful. From the general group, 8,354 students took the exam and 3,368 students were successful.
In total, 18,871 ninth-graders cleared the exam out of 29,855 students.
Furthermore, 19,283 students from the class 10 science group appeared for the exams out of which 16,149 passed. From the general group, 8, 511 appeared and 4,813 were declared successful. A total of 27,794 tenth-graders appeared for the Swat BISE exams and 20,962 passed.
