As the X-Men: Days of Future Past star prepares to host the Tony Awards for the fourth time, he humourously speaks about his kids and Father’s Day in a candid conversation with E! Online. Some fathers are content getting a handmade card with a note scribbled in crayon saying, “Happy Father’s Day!” Jackman, however, jokes that he’s a little more specific with his little ones—son Oscar and daughter Ava—as he educates them on how to celebrate fatherhood and honouring paternal bonds. “Well, I just preach to my kids that every day is Father’s Day, so I expect breakfast in bed every day.” Adding to these playful demands, Jackman also quipped, “I’m all for the patriarchal system.” The quick-witted actor put his humour to good use when he hosted the 2014 Tony Awards Sunday night, living up to the audience’s high expectations.
Called “a consummate entertainer and the one you want out there hosting your live television event,” by Jack Sussman, executive vice president of specials, music and live events at CBS Entertainment, the Tony Award winner and versatile actor is so skilled at emceeing he won an Emmy award for hosting the awards in 2004.”Hugh is the ultimate performer—actor, singer and dancer—he does it all, second to none,” added Sussman.
