KARACHI: A 4-5kg bomb was found inside the Mominabad police station in Orangi Town on Sunday, Express News reported.

The Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) has been called to the location and they are currently working on defusing the bomb.

The discovery of the bomb inside the police station also calls into question the lack of security in the station.

Bombs defused earlier

A five-kilogramme bomb was defused by the bomb disposal squad (BDS) in Orangi Town on May 25. The bomb was concealed in a block of cement and was planted near a tea shop.

Less than a week before that, the bomb disposal unit (BDU) defused a five-kg bomb planted near the house of former PPP K-P president and ex-provincial minister Rahimdad Khan in Hathian, Mardan.

On May 13, the police defused a bomb in Saeedabad, averting another possible act of terrorism in Karachi, within three days of the recovery of a bomb from the police training centre.

We will have to change the entire policing system if we are to avoid more damage and demoralization. it's mind boggling to read that bombs have been found in and near police stations and where they receive training. Salams

unless we have our basics right, how can we expect them to protect the general public...? they are unable to protect their own backyard & we expect them to protect us....
