LAHORE: Justice Khalid Mehmood Khan of the Lahore High Court on Friday summoned Ministry of Information Technology’s adviser on science and registrar of the Punjab University on a petition against alleged hurdles being created in the launch of inexpensive injection to cure hepatitis-C.

The petitioner said Dr Riazuddin had developed an inexpensive injection. He said pharmaceutical companies and Ministry of Information Technology had created hurdles in the way of sale of the injection. He accused the MoIT of joining hands with the PU registrar to remove Riazuddin from the project. The person who succeeded Riazuddin as project head had falsely said that the injection was cost Rs70 each.
