Environment Day: PPAF rewards environmentally friendly projects

WWF calls for recognition of climate change threats.



The Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF) presented an award to partner organisations for implementing environmentally friendly projects in connection with World Environment Day.


In recognition for their services, representatives of community organisations received the Obaidullah Baig Environmental Award at the PPAF office, according to a press release.


PPAF has constituted the award to recognise the services of late Obaidullah Baig, a well-known a novelist, columnist.


Salma Obaidullah Baig said it was encouraging to witness the level of awareness about environment among community organisations. PPAF chief Qazi Azmat Isa said that environmental protection was one of their core values and they try to ensure environmental safeguards in community-driven development projects.
