The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA), Sindh, director-general Brigadier (retd) Zahid Hussain suspended on Tuesday the incharge of the NADRA office in Sindh Secretariat, Azizullah Shah, for negligence. The decision was taken after Sindh chief secretary Sajjad Saleem Hotiana paid a surprise visit to the NADRA Smart Card Centre at the secretariat on Tuesday morning. According to sources, the chief secretary found staff to be absent and that only four tokens had been issued even three hours after the opening time. Hotiana then contacted Hussain, who suspended the NADRA centre incharge for negligence. The chief secretary directed other NADRA officials to perform their duties responsibly and warned that any negligence will not be tolerated.
