Pakistan cricketers, who are currently undergoing an intense training camp at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Lahore, will not be playing the 70-over matches initially scheduled to take place prior to the camp’s conclusion.
The Express Tribune has been reporting that the players have been left exhausted after being put through several tough training sessions in the past 26 days. However, camp commandant and NCA head coach Mohammad Akram has repeatedly denied these reports.
It has been learnt that the selection committee and Akram have now decided against holding these matches and instead, the players will take up light training towards the end before returning to their respective homes on June 6.
“The training camp will not end with the 70-over practice matches as initially planned by the think tank,” a PCB official told The Express Tribune.
“Instead the players will do light training followed by another football match a day before the camp concludes and will then head back home.”
