ISLAMABAD: The government will launch today (Monday) yet another youth scheme, under which students from Federally Administered Tribal Area (Fata) and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) will be handed 100% fee reimbursement cheques.
Prime Minister’s Fee Reimbursement Scheme [PMFRS] for the students of less developed areas will be launched from Peshawar, said a statement issued following a meeting chaired by Prime Minister’s Youth Programme (PMYP) chief Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
According to the statement, the PMYP’s chairperson will hand over fee reimbursement cheques to students doing MA, MSc, MS, MPhill or PhD courses from public sector universities, recognised by the Higher Education Commission (HEC).
The meeting was informed that out of the total 30,000 postgraduate students, hailing from less developed areas of the country, more than 6,000 post-graduate students are from the K-P and Fata.
These students will benefit from the Rs1.20 billion scheme launched by the present democratic government to encourage the pursuit of higher education for the students facing financial constraints.
Under the scheme, students domiciled in interior Sindh, Southern Punjab, Balochistan, less developed areas of the K-P, Fata, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) and Gilgit-Baltistan (G-B) will be provided 100% fee reimbursement in the financial year 2013-14, the meeting was informed.
The PMYP chief said the students of Baluchistan were the first to benefit from the PM’s 100% fee reimbursement scheme. “This testifies the intention of the present democratic government to provide equal opportunities to the students of less developed area of the country,” Maryam Nawaz is quoted as saying.
Here it must be noted that Finance Minister Senator Ishaq Dar launched the PMFRS in Balochistan on May 21, 2014.

Mam i m from multan studying in university of education multan campus. I m masters student. Mam very unfortunately our uni is not returning our fees vack to us. They recently give some of our students scholarship of 12000 and now they said they don't give our fees back :( Thats not right mam :( our fee was 35000 n they just give us 12000 .we want our fees back as all students getting back. Please help us as we all are very much tensed and worried. We need it badly Although our names were in tge list but now they show us their backs :( I sincerely hope u will pay attention to my request. Thank u
The Honorable Ma'am, We are the (Less developed areas) MS student of IBMS The University of Agriculture Peshawar. we are placed in a category of self finance but we are awarded by a public sector university and also IMScience and NUML students are compensated . These student are also on self finance and we are deprived of this right .It is requested that Kindly give us our right. we shell be very thank full for this act. I belong to Dera Ismail Khan KPK, recently have i have attended the cermuny at governor house Peshawar and receive a cheque of 17000. the issue is, we are enrolled in M PHIL PROGRAME and payed 45000 and students of other universities of kpk received a checque of 67000 although they are also MPhil students.The chair person of this scheme THE HONORABLE MARYAM NAWAZ said in her speech during that cermuny, "that we are giving 40000 to each student"

Salam Maryam Nawaz Shrif Mam I belong to Multan region and studying in university of Education Multan campus. Mam we are in difficulty for receiving in fee reimbursment. Mam i am studying MBA dept and i am the topper of my class. Today, our university clerks announced that all the students of masters who have already receive internal merit based scholorship of university are not eligible for this scheme.Mam is this true that any type of this condition are mention for this scheme. But Mam eligibility criteria are not required for this scheme of all masters level student. Please Mam do something we deserve for this scheme and Mam my name are include in first fee reimbursment scheme but today may name was not mention in final list plz Mam give me reply soon.ALLAH HAFIZ
Salam Maryam nawaz Sharif its requested to you that the PM Fee remebersment scheme which has announced should be 100% for the students of Malakand Division those disttic deserve for this scheme and the students of the Malakand division who study in the Hazara University are specially deserve for this scheme now its requested to you that to act over my humble request.. to free education for the students of Malakand division students who are donig Master M.S M.Phill and PH.D OK THANKS
