ISLAMABAD: The federal Expanded Programme on Immunisation (EPI) has sought a detailed report from EPI Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa on the death of the children who allegedly died after being vaccinated for measles. Talking to The Express Tribune, an EPI official on condition of anonymity said that the final report containing details regarding the incident will be submitted on Monday (today) by the EPI K-P. According to initial reports, the health worker responsible for the immunisation had filled the syringes a few hours before an untrained person injected them. “Negligence while injecting the vaccine can have adverse affect on children which can prove fatal,” the official added. In regard to the children fainting after being immunised for measles, the official said that the children fainted only out of fear.
