Military sources said that the Pakistan Army retaliated and as a result, 14 militants were killed.
"Up to 200 Taliban militants from across the border attacked a group of Pakistani posts and at least 14 militants were killed in the fierce fighting," a senior military official told AFP.
According to sources, the attack took place at 5:15am on Saturday.
"One soldier embraced martyrdom and two others were wounded critically," the official said. The two injured security officials were sent to a hospital while a search operation had been started in the area.
"The militants from Tehreek-e-Taliban Bajaur and Swat chapters had regrouped in Ghund village of Afghanistan and launched the attack from there," the official said.
Another military official confirmed the attack and casualties, which could not be verified independently.
Gunship helicopters also took part in the retaliatory action, military officials further said.
Bajaur agency shares a border with the Afghan province of Kunnar, where such attacks are frequent. The Pakistani foreign office has protested in the past and have raised the issue with Afghanistan. On Saturday the posts in Kaga Pass and Manoo Jangle areas were once again attacked by militants.
The forces have beefed up security in the agency after these attacks and have started Jirgas with tribal leaders.

Are Taliban playing mercenaries for both Pakistan and Afghanistan?
This time its Abdullah ^2 not Karzai @Mustafa Alvi:
What's the purpose of these border outposts? For over a decade the Taliban have readily crossed the border so either they did that with Pakistan permission or these outposts serve no real security purpose. How about removing the outposts or at least move them a few miles further inside Pakistan so that they become harder to attack and when they are attacked the Taliban have a harder time retreating to Afghanistan. . Afghanistan shouldn't allow sanctuaries .. but I suspect they have no sympathy for Pakistan since you have ignored 12 years of complaints about Haqqani sanctuaries.
Nice action. However, the Pakthoons will come back to claim PakthunKhwa. There is noo doubt about it.Many people forsee it in their "vision".And everyone knows this is coming. If humans are truthful to themselves, they actually sense what is coming.
The heat is building up- for the D-day.
