PESHAWAR: Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Finance Minister Sirajul Haq said on Friday that the government is trying to allocate most of the funds for the development, Radio Pakistan reported.

Haq said the social sector is being given priority in the budget for fiscal year 2014-15.

Addressing a one day pre-budget consultation workshop in Peshawar on Friday, Siraj said that equal funds will be distributed among all districts with a focus on backward areas.

The federal budget is expected to be announced next week, with provincial budgets expected to follow suit later on in June.
