KARACHI: Sindh Health Minister Dr Sagheer Ahmed has ordered officials to ensure that all swimming pools in the city are closed for the next three to four months.  On the recommendation of the committee formed for the prevention of Naegleria fowleri bacteria, Dr Ahmed directed the officials on Thursday to close public access to all swimming pools. He said that this action was taken after a teenager died from Naegleria fowleri infection, after he swam in a pool at a farm house. He also directed officials to take water samples from all areas to check the quantity of chlorine.
