ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has deployed two mechanical sweepers to clean the major avenues of the capital in a more effective and efficient manner. Equipped with the latest equipment, the mechanical sweepers will be operating daily. Meanwhile, the CDA Environment Wing has started sprinkling water on major city roads, particularly around areas where construction and excavation for the metro bus project is ongoing. CDA teams are sprinkling water twice a day, morning and evening. The initiatives aim to minimise the harmful effects of the construction work. Chairman CDA Maroof Afzal has further directed the Environment Wing to ensure watering of plants in the city during the summer.
