LAHORE:

A consumer court on Monday issued a notice to a man on a Rs500,000 suit claiming he had provided substandard furniture to a customer.

Muhammad Asad, the petitioner, said he had purchased furniture for Rs300,000 from Muhammad Khawar, the owner of Khawar Furniture in Ghulsan-i-Ravi, four months ago.

He said the furniture was substandard and the polish had started to fade.

He requested the consumer court to order Muhammad Khawar to replace the furniture and pay him Rs500,000 in damages.

Speaking to The Express Tribune, Khawar said the furniture he had sold to Asad was not of poor quality.

He said he had asked Asad to bring the furniture to his shop if it needed a repair. “But Asad did not come to me.”
