Back-to-back: Shahbaz calls on PM, army chief

In his meeting with Nawaz, Shahbaz discusses former’s upcoming visit to India and progress on development projects.

Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif held back-to-back meetings with both Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and military chief Gen Raheel Sharif on Sunday.


In his meeting with the premier, Shahbaz discussed the former’s upcoming visit to India and progress on development projects. According to sources, the prime minister said Pakistan wanted to co-exist peacefully with India by resolving all issues, such as Kashmir, Sir Creek, water and trade. The premier added that as a token of goodwill, Pakistan will release Indian fishermen along with their boats.


Earlier in the day, Shahbaz met Gen Raheel in what was his second meeting with the army chief in less than 24 hours. According to sources , several important issues were discussed in the meeting which lasted for about an hour.
