The Pakistan Secretariat Employers Coordination Council has demanded that the federal government implement an upgradation policy in other provinces and the federal capital similar to the one in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.
They threatened to stage a peaceful protest in front of the Pak Secretariat building in the federal capital on May 29 against what they referred to as the “indifferent attitude” of Finance Minister Ishaq Dar towards their demand.
They claimed that they have been trying to meet with Dar for over three months and that they were not taken into confidence by the federal government on the matter of raising salaries for federal employees in the upcoming budget.
They lauded the K-P government for implementing the upgradation policy.
According to the policy, a superintendent will be elevated from grade 16 to 17, an assistant superintendent from grade 14 to 16, a senior clerk from grade 9 to 14 and a junior clerk from grade 7 to 11 grade.
