Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Najam Sethi called on the Prime Minister (PM) and Patron Nawaz Sharif on Sunday to touch upon a number of important issues that he is bracing with at the helm of the body.
An official close to the matter told The Express Tribune that Sharif assured Sethi of the government’s wholehearted support in the ongoing chairmanship crisis that has engulfed the board for more than a year.
The Supreme Court is set to hear Zaka Ashraf’s lawyers and the Inter-Provincial-Coordination (IPC) ministry in the next hearing on May 27 — with the community pinning hopes on a permanent end to the crisis.
Sethi has been backed by the IPC and was reinstated by the apex court at his post barely two days after Ashraf had been reinstalled at the seat by the Islamabad High Court (IHC) last week.
The PM also agreed to talk about the restoration of the Indo-Pak cricket series during his meeting with the Indian counterpart Narendra Modi, during his two-day visit on the occasion of Modi’s oath taking ceremony.
“The patron reiterated his full support for the policies that are being implemented by the PCB,” said Sethi, terming the meeting with the prime minister very productive.
He added that there was an extremely positive outcome of the meeting that would help improve the coordination between the patron and the board further, as the PCB continues its endeavours of reshaping the domestic structure besides inviting foreign teams to the country.

Non profit?
I wonder PCB is so important that the PM himself has to interfere? Please remind me of any nation which asked it's leaders to intervene in it's non profit sports organization.
