MOHMAND AGENCY: Militants blew up a primary school for girls in the Saafi district of Mohmand Agency on Tuesday.

Explosive devices had been planted around the school's premises by militants, according to reports.

The Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) claimed responsibility for the attack.

Just last week, a government school for boys in in Koza Bandai was attacked with explosives.

A new wave of fear has crept into the lives of people in the area as miscreants have attacked more than 50 different schools in the last two years.

Earlier, the military had claimed that Orakzai Agency has been cleared of militants, with which the repatriation of displaced people begun.

However, attacks on security forces have registered a rise over the past few days in nearby Orakzai agency, where a military operation is being carried out since March of this year.
