Lectures in Canada: Judiciary is a catalyst for change, says CJ

In Montreal, Justice Jillani delivered a speech on the judiciary’s role in the promotion of a culture of tolerance.

ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani highlighted the role of judiciary as an agent of positive change in Pakistani society during his three-day official tour of Canada. According to a statement issued by the Supreme Court, Justice Jillani visited Canada from May 20 to 22. The essential purpose of the visit was to take forward the activities of the Working Party on Mediation (the Malta Process), which is co-chaired by Justice Jillani and Chief Justice of Canada the Right Beverley McLachlin. Justice Jillani delivered a speech on the judiciary’s role in the socio-economic development of Pakistan. He made a presentation on judiciary as a catalyst for social change at the University of Ottawa. In Montreal, Justice Jillani delivered a speech on the judiciary’s role in the promotion of a culture of tolerance.
