The decision was taken during a meeting chair by the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to finalise the Public Sector Development Program (PSDP) allocation for financial year 2014-15 at PM House.
We have embarked upon the road to progress and the projects initiated by our government will usher our country into an era of prosperity, said Nawaz. He added that these projects will not only create millions of job opportunities in the country but also raise the living standard of our people.
Emphasising on the efficient use of public money, Nawaz told the participants of the meeting that each penny in the government’s kitty is a public trust.
The meeting was attended by Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal, MNA Hamza Shahbaz, MNA Capt (retd) Safdar and senior officials of the concerned ministries.
Prime Minister was given a detailed briefing on the PSDP projects included in the next financial year budget.
Nawaz was informed that each project, whether small, medium or large has been evaluated with reference to cost, importance, priority and time frame.
The premier directed authorities to speed up the initiation of work on Lahore- Karachi Motorway. The premier was informed that the work on this project will be started by end of current year.
The meeting also discussed and approved the initiatives of feasibility study for construction of new rail links from Islamabad to Muzaffarabad via Murree, new rail link from Havelian to Pak China Border, feasibility study to connect Gawadar with Karachi through rail.
Feasibility studies for approach roads to New Islamabad International Airport, New Gawadar International Airport project, Jetty and Infrastructure development at Gaddani, Gawadar Port Economic Free Zone project and Pak-China Technical & Vocational Institute at Gawadar and Quaid-e-Azam Solar Park at Lal Sohnra Park Phase-II (600 MW), were also approved.

Thanks to PTI that PMLN initiated these projects so early. PMLN is really afraid that they will be gone in few months so they are now trying to build the image. Thankyou Imran Khan and PTI once again.
Please don't believe on any ground breaking ceremonies of Basha & Dasu Dam. Take my words "Government will never materialize these 2 projects". Now the question is WHY?????? The answer is Nawaz Sharif & Co will only emphasize on those projects which can be finished in less than 4 years. Hydel Power (Dams) take at least 5 year plan. As the government only watches their self interest rather than national interest so you cannot expect these 2 projects to come in shape. Government has stop working on Nelum Jehlum Hydel power project only because the transmission lines require more than 4 years to be inline with the project. Past 3 governments had approved Dasu and Basha dam project but none of them materialize it. You need to build these dams on war basis. We need water reservoir badly as we waste million cubic feet water every year by throwing it into sea. Punjab government & Federal government looking for expensive energy resource. Quaid e Azam solar panel project cost Rs. 22 per unit. Diesel power generation by IPPs cost Rs. 36 per unit. Thermal cost Rs. 16 per unit. Only hydel power cost Rs. 2-5 per unit. We have natural running water locations. We just have to place turbines and we can produce 1000s of MWH of energy. My request to Nawaz Sharif is to shift its primary focus to cheap energy rather dreaming of metro train and motorways.

Great Work I was kind of PTI fan, but by seeing theses mega projects of PMLN, I think PTI "dharnas" are stoping Pakistan to progress.
