PESHAWAR:

A division bench of the Peshawar High Court has ordered the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to take action against officials who have allegedly not utilised development funds for NA-33, Upper Dir.

The bench comprising Chief Justice Mazhar Alam Miankhel and Justice Ikramullah Khan gave the orders on Thursday.

Qazi Jawad Ihsanullah, lawyer for the petitioner Malik Fakhar Hayat, told the court the centre has released funds under the PSDP from 2008 to 2013 to the constituency, but its utilisation cannot be seen on ground.

He further said that Rs400 million were sanctioned during the last fiscal year but only Rs87 million have been utilised during the last 10 months.

The court then ordered the chairman of NAB to act on the complaints of the public and later disposed of the petition.
