On The Frontier: IED blast leaves one dead

A man was killed and another injured in a blast on the Pak-Afghan border in Khar, Bajaur Agency.

KHAR: A man was killed and another injured in a blast on the Pak-Afghan border in Khar, Bajaur Agency on Thursday. The political administration in Bajaur Agency confirmed the incident and said that an improvised explosive device (IED) went off on the border in Mamond tehsil. The explosion killed a resident, Khanzeb Khan, and injured Matiullah. The political administration launched a search operation in the area after the incident, however, no one was arrested till the filing of this report. No group or individual had claimed responsibility for the incident either. The blast comes after a similar incident last week when an IED went off in Rashakai area of Khar, killing a woman and injuring six levies officials. Earlier, an IED blast killed an official from the security forces in the area of Ghakh.
