KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) will hold countrywide protests besides raising voice at the floor of parliament against any move by the government to increase the electricity rates, top leaders of PTI told the media on Wednesday. “During the election campaign, the PML-N promised that it will resolve the electricity crisis, but the wrong decisions of the government have aggravated the energy issue,” PTI vice president Asad Umar said addressing a press conference. Umar, flanked by Dr Arif Alvi, Khurram Sher Zaman and Nadir Akmal Laghari said the government has planned to increase the electricity tariff by mid of July and PTI would strongly oppose it.
