ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court suspended the decision to reinstate Zaka Ashraf as the Pakistan Cricket Board chairperson and restored Najam Sethi as the head of the body, Express News reported on Wednesday.
As directed by the acting Chief Justice Nasirul Mulk, a three-member bench of the top court headed by Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali heard the case today.
On May 17, the IHC had reinstated Ashraf as the chairperson of the body. Justice Noorul Haq had termed Ashraf’s removal last January illegal, besides questioning the formation of the management committee that worked in Sethi’s chairmanship.
Three days later, the government had appealed to the Supreme Court on May 20 to reinstate Sethi as the head of the PCB.
The Ministry of Inter Provincial Coordination, which oversees sports affairs in the country, had filed the petition challenging the Islamabad High Court’s (IHC) January 17 judgment through its counsel Asma Jahangir.
In its petition, the government had expressed apprehension that the high court’s judgment will “ruin the game of cricket”.
The government had also requested the Supreme Court to restore PCB Management Committee (MC).
For the sixth time since May 2013, the board saw the reinstatement of a chairperson after he was sent packing on legal grounds. Ashraf was reinstated and then removed from the post three times while Sethi is now at the top spot for the third time.
Ashraf was suspended in May 2013 by the IHC after it ruled he had been elected via a dubious process which was carried out during a meeting of the governing body.
However, after a complicated legal process, he was reinstated by the same court on January 15, 2014, before Nawaz dismissed him again on February 10, bringing back in his place Sethi.

The above line essentially says that 'UNLESS .... Mr Najam is made PCB chief (and/or continued to be there as pcb chief as a PMs reward to him), the cricket is going to get ruined!!!'
So "ruin of Cricket" is linked to "Najam Sethi as PCB head" !!!!!
Then why to have elections bodies institutions??? Tomorrow there might also be petition asking that unless Mr Najam is made chief justice , justice would never be delivered!!!!!

I have a feeling that Mr. Sethi has come to PCB with certain plans, none of which have anything to do with the improvement of Cricket. All the tainted sportsmen are holding key offices with the team. The stage is being set for Pakistan to concede to India in a high profile 2015 world cup game. Moeen Khan already played his cards with the T-20 World Cup game against the Windies where you saw Kamran Akmal and Shoaib Malik making there way into the team to do what they do best, now you will see the 2015 World Cup produce a similar setback.
Cricket is becoming a part of the psychological warfare where rich countries win the games not just on the field but with careful background planning. This has the effect of raised testosterone levels in the Nations which wins, increased moral and helps them move forwards, whereas for the losing side it results in depravity and hopelessness.
If one honest person comes at the top he can set the agenda straight and produce honest wins for Pakistan. I have my doubts that Mr. Sethi is that person.

Seems the Judges are involved in match Fixing as well, where is the Rule of Law in Pakistan. This has become a joke, it is high time now that the ICC should intervene here and request the Patron in Chief of PCB whether PM or President of Pak to keep the PCB out of politics, the PCB should be a seperate entity whereby the PM or President should not involve themselves in nominating their favoured men as PCB Chairman.

Zaka Ashraf is not even eligible because he does not fulfil the basic eligibility criteria i.e. 35 punctures.
In the Roman republic there would be two consuls each of whom would command the army on alternate days... may be the PCB can do that with these two guys.

Our judiciary continues on its pathway of destroying institutions of this country, starting with Moulvi Tamizuddin Khan Case (Justice Munir), Bhutto Murder Case, Nusrat Bhutto Case and on top of all Zafar Ali Shah Case in which Supreme Court gave the powers (read liberty) to General Musharraf to amend the constitution of Pakistan at his will.
Instead of providing justice to the poor, our judges continue to be tools in the hands of mighty and powerful.

It is not about PCB , from this we can see the level of courts in our country. On all television it is mentioned that free and fair court system , and win of court and democracy. This is all crap , law and order is in worst condition in our country due to pathetic court orders we have , this is the biggest corruption that government enforces at the back of court system.
These all people are corrupt , they all should be ban and new faces should be given chance to come. Throw them all to the countries where they have money invested or accumulated.
