Armed assault: Police official injured, attacker killed

A police constable was injured when an armed man opened fire at him at the premises of Police Lines in Shah Mansoor Tuesday morning. The attacker was later killed in retaliatory fire by the police.


A report filed at Zaida police station stated the injured police constable, Nadeem, told his colleagues he was going out of Police Lines at 7:45am when a man entered the barracks and opened fire at him.

District Police Officer Sajjad Khan said the attacker was identified as Samiur Rehman, a resident of Panjpir, adding they have also launched a search operation in the area and arrested 30 suspects.

He also mentioned that Police Lines has been attacked twice before but Swabi’s brave policemen have foiled all attempts.
