The ECP demanded a record of the voters' list from NA-68 constituency, Sargodha, and asked the presiding officer to investigate Khan’s allegations.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had won the seat from NA-68 constituency in Sargodha. However, there is an alleged discrepancy in the number of registered voters (approx 1,500) and the number of votes cast (approx 8,000) at a particular polling station in the constituency.
Addressing a rally in Islamabad on April 29, Imran had announced the party’s decision to begin a fresh round of protests for a free and fair election commission.
Imran vowed to start protests against what he claimed was widespread rigging in the 2013 general elections.
Reiterating his claim that the May 2013 general elections were massively rigged, the PTI chief demanded a probe into the role of former chief justice Iftikhar Chaudhary, returning officers and a media group.
He said election rigging complaints had not been addressed by election tribunals and an inquiry would only ensure that the next elections are not rigged.
Imran's party rose to power in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa during the May 11 elections becoming the third largest party by seats in the National Assembly.
Addressing a rally in Narowal, Khan mentioned the mammoth elections that recently took place in India, claiming that no rigging took place during the electoral process.
"The loser in the Indian elections congratulates the winner and accepts defeat," Khan said.
Alleged rigging
Later in the day, Express News reported that there had been evidence of rigging in constituency PP-147 after investigations by the election commission.
According to Express Lahore bureau chief Muhammad Ilyas, the investigation, undertaken by the election tribunal and National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra), provides evidence in the form of counterfoil votes, missing electoral lists and missing signatures of the presiding officers.
There had been evidence of rigging in only six polling stations, Express News reported. It was also reported that investigations into constituency NA-122 may also present evidence of rigging.

@ Ali Tanoli... Because India has already implemented electronic voting system all over the country and rigging is next to impossible. Imran Khan has constantly been demanding to introduce and implement e-voting system so that they could avoid 35 punctures.
ECP should also take notice of those constituencies where PTI won with rigging.
@Ch. Allah Daad: You must be joking NS and its league will continue to get stay-orders from HC. The investigation will take another 3-4 years and then the status-qou parties will rig the next 2018 election.
Giving punishment who did wrong in previous election is the only way to correct and fair free elections next time. If the culprits will roam free do not expect free fair election next time in the country.That is why IK is saying again and again and struggling to correct this corrupted system to have better electoral system next time. Now this is the duty of judiciary to punish all those from RO's to Politicians who were involved in that crime.

@Ali Tanoli: Indian Election Commission is doing its job fairly. Electronic voting system is being used which has nearly zero chance of fake voting. In Pakistan, ECP is being used by the politicians. ECP has accepted that elections in Karachi were not free and fair. There are numerous reports of malpractice in whole country. You are not a kid who doesn't know about all these things.
ECP took one year to even start an investigation. I think it is time for them to resign.

We have to introduce anti rigging system for 2018 elections. Because in 2013 elections rigging is devised by our hidden enemy, Cast fake votes to every party. Later on losers are informed that election has been rigged. They will start dog fight and ultimately Pakistan will suffer. There should be free and fair election with biomatric tec but nothing before 2018. because demanding Midterm means putting state into civil war.
Wow, the election commission finally took a notice but for what? Of all the complaints, and of all sorts of them, they have picked up one polling station for investigation. One could already feel a cover up has been planned on the basis of this very polling station. If ECP wants to do some investigation, go for NA118 wherein we have a report on one whole constituency by the commission setup by election tribunal and why not go for thumb print verification of 8 to 10 constituencies, then we will know what happened on May 11, 2013.
I think ECP should learn from their counterparts in India as to how they ensure such a big & fair elections. Let the peace begin from there.

If the ECP did fair investigation this will set the road map for new ECP. We must bring biomatric voting system in Pakistan now so no one blames of rigging regardless of their win or loss

What a joke. ECP deputed a presiding officer to investigate his own short coming or collusion. Should they appoint a non partisan official to investigate this issue?
Mian Sahib is a product of the establishment and now is the establishment. ECP are corrupt to the core and it has taken them a year to investigate something that should have been done promptly because of the gravity of the allegations. IK you are wasting your time with these crooks.
Now Imran Khan should cancel his Dharna activities and cooperate with ECP for further investigations. On one side our armed forces are complaining about budget cuts and on the side Imran Khan is indulged in activities which are very harmful for economy.
