FAISALABAD:

Minister for Local Government and Law Rana Sanaullah Khan on Monday laid the foundation stone of an extension block for a 48-bed emergency ward at the Faisalabad Institute of Cardiology (FIC).

The project will be completed with donations from the family of a late industrialist from the area. FIC Board of Management Chairman Asim Khurshid, Executive Director Dr Raja Pervez Akhtar, MS Dr Ziaullah and family members of the late industrialist were present on the occasion. Sanaullah said a strategy had been devised to set up specialised hospitals in all districts. He said the FIC would be extended further as well. Khurshid said the previous 20-bed emergency ward was insufficient. He said a state-of-the-art CCU would be established on the upper storey of the extended emergency block.
