Massa not number two: team boss
Ferrari boss Stefano Domenicali insisted Felipe Massa will not start 2011 behind Fernando Alonso in Ferrari order.
Ferrari boss Stefano Domenicali insisted his driver Felipe Massa will not start 2011 behind Fernando Alonso in the Ferrari order.
Even if teammate Fernando Alonso wins the 2010 World Championship, Massa will not be relegated to a full-time supportive role next year, according to Domenicali. Brazilian Massa had been playing a subordinate role to Alonso’s title push even before his own title chances were over for this season.
Domenicali said Ferrari drivers raced primarily in the interests of the Maranello based team. “Our drivers have to know what is in the interest of the team,” the team boss told the Folha de S Paulo. “I can confirm that he will be able to start from scratch in 2011, but always knowing that Ferrari is the most important.”
