A life cut short: Two people commit suicide in separate incidents

HARIPUR:

Two people, including a young woman, committed suicide in Haripur district on Sunday.

Ghazi police quoted Neeyat Kabul, a resident of Tarbela Colony, saying his daughter Pari Gul, 20, was found hanging from the ceiling fan in her room by her mother in the afternoon. He, however, did not state any reason for his daughter’s suicide.

In a separate incident, 32-year-old Salim Jan committed suicide by jumping into a well in Sirya Maira village. Family members of the deceased and the police said the motive behind Jan taking his own life was unclear.

Meanwhile, the police recovered a bullet-riddled body of a man, believed to be in his forties, from Bir village. Police said locals spotted the body and informed them, after which they rushed to the site and shifted the deceased to a hospital where the victim was identified as Salman Khan of Oghi village.
