KARACHI: Lahori band ‘Poor Rich Boy’ will be heading to the US next month to take part in an exchange program titled ‘Center Stage’ initiated by the US Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.

Center Stage uses the performing arts in efforts to support cultural understanding between American and international communities.

This is the first time Poor Rich Boy will be touring the US together as part of Center Stage.

Center Stage will bring seven ensembles from Morocco, Pakistan and Vietnam to the US for month-long tours from June-December 2014, connecting artists with diverse communities across the country.

Residencies will include performances, workshops, discussions, people-to-people exchanges, and community gatherings.

Poor Rich Boy is not a new name when it comes to underground music in Lahore. The band is known primarily for its frenzy-filled and high energy performances. With lyrics in English, this band has created a niche and exclusive fan following for itself over the span of almost six years.
