The assailants managed to flee after the incident. The gate of her house reportedly bore evidence of the bullets fired.
Police reached her house soon after the incident and launched an investigation. No loss of life was reported.
Controversial video
Recently, a court had ordered the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to investigate a case against actress Meera and her husband Captain Navid for a controversial video.
The additional district and sessions judge had passed the order after police told him that it was a case of cyber crime. Shabbir Muhammad had filed a petition on January 20 that he had watched an “immoral clip” featuring the actress and her husband that he said tarnished the image of Pakistan. He had requested the court to direct police to register a case against them and put their names on the ECL.
The court had ordered police to register a case against the two if a cognisable crime was made out. The actress had said that the video is a fake and an attempt to malign her. She had said that those who had uploaded the video on internet were trying to create problems for her.

Pakistan bullets won't work on Meera. It has to be imported English bullets.
We endorse the criminal activity by criticizing the victim(s) and their character(s). It's Meera's house today and it could by your house tomorrow.
Must be her English, some one did not like.
Though I would never condone Meera was "leaking" her video to gain publicity...
But this is seriously getting out of hand...
First, someone filed a complaint saying she brought our country to shame...As if a leaked video is more shameful than travel bans for failing to curb polio
Now,people are ready to kill her for that....
If the people of Pakistan are pious as they potray themself..Noone would have known that such video even existed.
@Rumormonger: i am sure being fired at is not the type of news she would want to be in. and i am sure people like you will blame her and call the firing at her house a conspiracy or a publicity stunt none the less.
@rumormonger. Be human. Someone wanted her killed. Its callous to make such statements when she would have lost her life.
I want to serve the humanity but humans don't allow me to serve :(
She keeps herself in the news.... by hook or by crook.
No firing at Capt. Naveed's house, an equal partner in making that 'video'? Why just blame the woman only.
