Finance Minister Ishaq Dar reiterated that energy remains one of the highest priorities of the present government during a meeting with US official Robin Raphel, who called on him to discuss bilateral economic issues and cooperation between the two countries to encourage trade and investment in the region.
The finance minister had a detailed discussion with the official on the recently-completed 3rd successful review by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and on the latest economic indicators.
Dar stated that the Pakistan economy was witnessing an upward trend in growth while inflation was decreasing.
Raphel also acknowledged that Pakistan was undergoing an upswing.
