PCB will not back the suspended trio: Butt

LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Monday made it clear that it will not back the alleged spot-fixing trio suspended by the International Cricket Council (ICC).

Talking to the media in Lahore, PCB chief Ijaz Butt said the suspended players Muhammad Amir, Salman Butt and Muhammad Asif, will only be included in the squad after the ICC's approval.

A day eariler the ICC had rejected the appeals of Salman Butt and Muhammad Amir against their suspensions.

He also informed that the names of the 30 players for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 will be announced at the end of this month.

The PCB chief also brushed aside the need for a batting coach.

Ashutosh | 14 years ago | Reply These players are not kids or mentally challenged, guys. They have to own the responsibilities even if they did under someones influence. There are glaring evidence against them and they surely are not defend-able. It is better that Pakistan leaves them to defend themselves, otherwise, Pakistan will be standing on the wrong side of the line.
