Busted: Two alleged extortionists arrested

The alleged extortionists were identified as Hassan Zaib and Ajab Khan.

KARACHI: Two alleged extortionists were arrested by the Ittehad Town police from a shop in Gulshan-e-Ghazi, Baldia, on Thursday morning. According to the SHO of the Ittehad Town police station, Shahzad, the alleged extortionists were demanding one million rupees as extortion from Liaquat Ali, a businessman and were also threatening to kill his family if he did not pay up. The alleged extortionists were identified as Hassan Zaib and Ajab Khan. The businessman informed the police who arrested the accused from a shop where they had told him to bring the money. It was decided that Ali would pay them Rs200,000 and would bring it to the meeting spot. The police arrived on the scene dressed in plain clothes and arrested Zaib and Khan.
