KARACHI: A senior doctor and the deputy medical superintendent of Civil hospital, Dr Nawaz Ali Mallah, has alleged that his colleague and the head of the cardio department, Prof Khalida Soomro, has threatened him and demanded that he withdraw the case he had filed against her. Dr Mallah filed a negligence case against Prof Soomro in the sessions court claiming that Prof Soomro lied to him. “I was brought to her ward with a minor complication and I had no heart problem and yet I was deliberately admitted into the ward,” he told the media at Karachi Press Club on Wednesday. Dr Mallah said that Prof Soomro has approached him through another doctor, Dr Abdul Latif Unar, to withdraw the case. He also added that this was quite common and most cardiologists were deceiving their patients to make money.
