QUETTA: The power crisis continued in 20 districts of Balochistan for the seventh consecutive day on Wednesday. While electricity supply to Makran division—comprising Kech, Panjgur and Gwadar, was suspended from Iran for the fourth consecutive day after rainstorm destroyed power transmission lines on May 10. The repair work on these power transmission lines has yet to be started. Iran is providing electricity to Makran division where load shedding is comparatively less than other parts of the province. On the other hand the damaged four transmission lines between Sibi and Mach have not been repaired despite the lapse of seven days. The transmission lines were damaged due to a thunderstorm on May 7. According to Quetta Electricity Supply Company (Qesco), repair work on four transmission lines damaged between Mach and Sibi is underway and soon it will be concluded.
