Cyber Crime; Statements recorded in hacker’s case

The police arrested the suspect, who is out on bail.

LAHORE: The court of an additional district and sessions judge on Monday recorded statements of several expert witnesses in a case against a suspect accused of hacking over 5,000 websites.  The judge later adjourned the case. The accused, Haris Khan, also faces charges of committing fraud and telling customers of WEB Soles, a website hosting company, to direct the payment of their renewal fees to him. Khan also allegedly hacked the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) website. Complainant Major (r) Akbar Ali Zahid had registered a case against Khan under the cyber crime act with Gulberg police in 2011. The police arrested the suspect, who is out on bail.
