New police lines, stations to be built

Government has decided to strengthen police infrastructure by establishing new police stations.

Rs2 billion has been allocated for the construction of seven new police lines, four police stations, 11 patrolling posts and two police posts across K-P.

PESHAWAR: In view of the prevailing security situation in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P), the government has decided to strengthen police infrastructure by establishing new police stations and posts across the province.

According to a statement issued from the office of Home and Tribal Affairs on Monday, Rs2 billion has been allocated for the construction of seven new police lines, four police stations, 11 patrolling posts and two police posts across K-P.

The areas where the new police lines would be made are Mardan, Torghar, Haripur, Tank, Lower Dir, Charsadda and Karak districts whereas new police stations would be constructed in Garhi Kapoora, Saro Shah, Kharkai and Parhoti areas of the Mardan. The localities identified for patrolling posts include Pul Kalay, Lond khawar, Chato, Ghazi Baba, Hathyan, Pir Saddi, Umarabad, Chura, Tazadher, Shangrai and Chargulli while new police posts would be established in Pirbala and Khanaspur, Abbottabad.
