PESHAWAR: Three trucks carrying Nato vehicles were torched by the armed men in Peshawar near Ring Road in the jurisdiction of Yakatot police station on Sunday night.

According to details, armed men who were riding two bikes came to a terminal on Ring Road near Hazar Khwani. They held the watchman hostage at gunpoint and set three trucks on fire, said police.

An official of the local police station while talking to the Express Tribune said that “These trucks used to transport containers, but in this case they were loaded with Nato armoured vehicles”.

He added that “the armed men poured patrol on the trucks, which were parked in a terminal, and set them on fire.

“These Nato vehicles are not only bullet proof but also fire proof so they are safe but the trucks have been severally damaged and the armed men made good their escape after committing the crime,” said official.

Pakistan is the central supply route to transport to Nato forces in Afghanistan.

No point in torching trucks randomly . put some intelligence work in it select and be effective. Ask the russians
