KARACHI:

Khan Research Laboratories (KRL) is out from the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) President’s Cup after losing to Sri Lanka Air Force 3-0 in their third Group A match at the Sugathadasa Sports Complex in Colombo on Sunday.

This was the first defeat for KRL which pushed them out of the event. Earlier, they had played a goalless draw against Bangladesh’s Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra Limited in their first match and defeated Ugyen Academy FC 3-0 in their second outing.

Tariq Lutfi, a former Pakistan national coach, was not happy with his team’s performance in this match but was glad to see them play in the absence of their top six players.

“We were playing without our six leading players,” said Lutfi. “But I am happy with the way we have played so far.”
