Crime roundup: Cops arrest 40 people

The Sadiqabad police conducted a raid at Sadiqabad Service Road and arrested 12 gamblers.

RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi police claimed to have arrested 40 outlaws including 12 gamblers and five suspected robbers during the last two days. They also claim to have seized 1.6 kg of hashish, 71 bottles of liquor, 20 cans of beer, three 30-bore pistols with 34 rounds, one 32-bore pistol with two rounds, and fireworks from the possession of the arrested persons. In addition, the Sadiqabad police conducted a raid at Sadiqabad Service Road and arrested 12 gamblers, Imran, Amir, Zahoor, Allah Rakha, Mazhar, Mahmood Khan, Riasat, Saleem, Gul Sher, Abdul Rehman, Fawad Zafar and Ibrahim, and recovered Rs 73,000 stake money and 14 mobile phones. The Saddar Wah Police nabbed five suspected robbers, identified as Shoukat, Shan Khan, Ijaz, Babar and Sheraz from Mohabatabad and recovered three pistols with 11 rounds. All of the accused have been sent behind bars.
