Misuse of authority: ‘Policemen robbed me’

Petitioner said when he tried to register a case against them, the police refused to cooperate.

LAHORE: An additional district and sessions judge on Saturday sought comments from Sabzazar SHO on a petition seeking a case against four policemen who allegedly stole. Muhammad Ilyas said on May 6, he was walking in his street when four officials of Mohafiz Squad stopped him and frisked him. He said they took Rs12,500 and his mobile phone. He said when he asked for his possessions, they beat him. He said he later discovered that the officials were from Hanjerwal police station. He said when he tried to register a case against them, the police refused to cooperate.
