PIA, KPT record wins in football league

PIA, KPT seized victory in two matches of the Pakistan Premier League.

KARACHI: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) defeated Afghan Football Club 2-0 and Karachi Port Trust (KPT) beat Baloch Football Club 4-3 in the two matches of the Pakistan Premier League (PPL) yesterday.

After a dull first half, PIA striker Ali Ehsan scored the first goal of the match in the 66th minute and Muhammad Ishtiaq sealed the victory in the 75th minute.

Meanwhile, KPT took the lead against Baloch FC in the 19th minute through Zafar Majeed which was equalised by Zafar Ahmed in the 30th minute. Muhammad bin Younus scored the second for KPT a minute later with Naseer Ahmed following up with a third before the interval.

Naveed Ahmed seemingly put KPT in a winning position before Baloch FC’s defender Muhammad Akbar and winger Habibullah scored in the 80th and 87th minute to build an exciting finale but to no avail as KPT held on to the slimmest of lead.
